Shea Theory

My name is Kristyn Casselle and I am the Founder and Creator of Shea Theory, all-natural and organic skincare.

I developed Shea Theory back in 2008 as a way to combat my lifelong struggle with eczema. As a child, hyperpigmentation scars from the condition often left me with body insecurities that followed me into my adult years. I frequented dermatologists and tried countless prescriptions that would only worsen my condition and leave me even more discouraged.

When I started college, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I began experimenting and researching everything I could about natural skincare solutions and organic products. I remember running back and forth in between classes to my dorm to add oils and try new mixing techniques.

After many attempts, I finally found a formula that worked for me and launched my first Shea Butter line, Sweet Glory in 2016.

Our History

It was far from perfect. I only shared my product with my immediate family, but when I discovered that it cleared my nana’s psoriasis, I knew I struck gold. I decided to pull all my resources together to create a brand and in 2018 Sweet Glory became Shea Theory.

Today, Shea Theory offers a variety of butters and oils in over ten different scents, and two variants; Our classic Shea Butter and our body oils. Our multipurpose Shea Theory products can revitalize the skin, reduce the appearance of scars and moisturize hair.

We use three key ingredients to bring our universal theory of healing to life:

Sweet Almond Oil keeps your skin cells healthy, protects your skin from UV radiation damage, and helps your skin look smooth, soft, and free of fine lines.

Avocado Oil, anti-inflammatory and rich in antioxidants, helps your skin stay smooth, strong, and elastic.

Manuka Honey can be an effective treatment against acne and contains antibacterial properties that make it a great choice for healing a variety of skin conditions.

Shea Theory & Sustainability

Shea Theory is committed to sustainability because we believe that healing ourselves is just as important as healing our environment. When you order any product from Shea Theory, you receive a free bamboo straw to combat Gross Mass Production in the plastic industry. As someone who’s always at the beach and has a real appreciation for the ocean, it was important to try to bring awareness to water pollution and its effect on marine life.

Reflecting on my humble beginnings and how the idea for my brand came from a small theory that anything can be healed, it goes without question that a little bit of patience, dedication, and care, can transform a simple theory into a reality.
